Golestan Dam
A dam and a stop on the way to Torghabeh. It is a midpoint, not a separate plan if the valley is your destination.
Where it is
Golestan Dam is on the Mashhad–Torghabeh road: water, a hill, and a pause before you enter Torghabeh. If this is all you want, you do not need to continue to Shandiz.
Friday-evening traffic back from the west is slow. Do not time the stop so that the return becomes an unfamiliar road after dark.
